Some Motivation For The Day
Things motivating me right now -
I have never suffered from clinical depression but I have had mini-episodes of hopelessness and worthlessness time and again.
Music, poetry, and interviews help me a lot in these times.
So, I am sharing things that are supporting me currently in my current episode.
1. An interview of Jordon Peterson -
To succeed, you have to be a monster. First, become a monster and then learn to control it. And its rue. You have to put in efforts, far beyond your comfort zone, to become the best. You have to be willing to work overtime. You have to be eccentric. Every successful person that I know is weird, eccentric, and crazy. They are monsters and I also want to be one. The problem is that it's extremely hard to get out of your comfort zone.
2. A beautiful and motivating verse from Rashmirathi by Dinkar, sung by Chinmai and Joell.
My favorite lines are
“Sach hai Vippati Jab aati hai, Kayar ko dehlati hai. Shurma nahi vichalit hote. Chhan ek nahi dheeraj khote.”
I love Dinkar’s poetry and in these lines, it feels like he is calmly shouting at all of us to stop crying like losers, get the fuck up and do the things we are supposed to do.
When he says,
“Vishwa ki pukar hai ye Bhagwat ka sar hai, Ki Yuddha hi to veer ka prmaad hai.
Kauravo ki bheed ho, Ya Pandavo ka need ho, Jo lad sakha hai wo hi to mahan hai”
Gives me goosebumps.
I have started listening to these every morning as a reminder that we are in the middle of a war and I have to be a ruthless monster willing to go far beyond my comfort zone and win.
I hope it helps.
